Bright Bolide During The Perseid Meteor Shower on August 14, 2013 at 12:47AM CDT. Video taken with an Orion AllSky video camera mounted on the rail of my deck. It has a 170 degree view of the sky. The camera was set to "meteor detection mode" where it only records when it sees motion in the field of view. Therefore the video is only a few seconds long. You will need to loop the video to see it well.This bolide was seen from Ohio all the way down into Arkansas and is event 1743-2013 on the American Meteor Society website. A map of the observer locations is below as well as a witness report from the closest observer to me in Crossville, IL.
